JHSC CERTIFICATION TRAINING  - PART Two

Joint Health Safety Committee - REFRESHER

Pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and, dependent on the number of workers, Employers are legally required to ensure that either a Health and Safety REP or Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) is established in all workplaces. 

Further, it is the Employer's responsibility to ensure that workplace inspections and safety meetings are conducted on a regular basis as required by law. In addition, Employers must also provide all required certification training for JHSC members. 

Canadian Security Training's Health and Safety division is an MLITSD-approved Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Training Provider and is licenced to provide JHSC Refresher certification training. Courses are conveniently scheduled to assist Employers with operational scheduling and budgeting and can be completed on a part-time basis including weekends. 

Course Overview

This one-day mandatory training course builds on the Part 1 & 2 JHSC training and focuses on a review of the advanced practical applications of the OHSA Legislation and Regulations. Through classroom instruction and scenario-based training and testing this course will cover:

Who Should Take This Course?

This is a mandatory course for all certified members of a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) who have successfully completed both the Part 1 and 2 JHSC certification training.  Upon completion of the JHSC-Refresher certification program, participants will receive a wall certificate and wallet card.  In addition, all participants will receive complimentary academic tracking and re-currency reminder service.

Prerequisites

Qualified participants must be a member of a workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and have successfully completed both the Part 1 and 2 JHSC Certification training within the last twelve (12) months.

Equipment Required

There is no training equipment required for this course. Participant training manuals and all required reading materials are included in the cost of the course.  Mandatory participant dress code is business casual.

Recurrency and Recertification

All certificates issued are valid for three years and must be renewed.  Included as part of the JHSC-Part 2 Health and Safety program is complimentary academic tracking and a re-currency training reminder service.
