Healthcare Employee Safety Awareness Training

Personal Support Workers (PSW) and RN's

Healthcare workers are considered to be at one of the highest risks of getting attacked at work. From physical assaults, including being punched, kicked and bitten, to assaults involving weapons, such as needles, furniture or common hospital equipment. The risk to healthcare workers is high.

A tragic incident of workplace violence not only causes physical harm, but it can also have a devasting mental and emotional impact on all employees, their families and co-workers.

In accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), Employers and Supervisors have a legal obligation to ensure that they take every precaution reasonable for the protection of their workers. In addition to mandatory Workplace Violence Legislation, they have a legal duty to ensure all Employees receive qualified Education and Training in workplace safety. This includes ensuring all workers are protected and not placed in a position that may present a risk to their personal safety.
